- Clean Energy Council of Australia
The CEC is a membership based industry association representing the clean energy and energy efficiency sectors. It has more than 300 member companies involved in the development or deployment of clean energy and energy efficiency technologies including wind, hydro, wave and ocean, solar photovoltaic and thermal, bioenergy, solar hot water, geothermal and cogeneration.
The Council is an incorporated not-for-profit association and is based in Melbourne.
- CitySwitch
CitySwitch Green Office is a growing national partnership between businesses and local government acting as environmental leaders. The program works with tenants to improve office energy efficiency, thereby reducing the CO2 emissions attributed to global warming.
- NABERS
NABERS is a performance-based rating system for existing buildings. NABERS rates a building on the basis of its measured operational impacts on the environment, and provides a simple indication of how well you are managing these environmental impacts compared with your peers and neighbours.
- Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA)
Green Star is a comprehensive, national, voluntary environmental rating system that evaluates the environmental design and construction of buildings and, with 11 per cent of Australia's CBD commercial office buildings Green Star certified, building green is now a business imperative.
- Energy Efficiency Opportunities Scheme
The Australian Government's Energy Efficiency Opportunities program encourages large energy-using businesses to improve their energy efficiency. It does this by requiring businesses to identify, evaluate and report publicly on cost effective energy savings opportunities.
- Department of Industry & Investment
Through consultation and policy development, Industry & Investment NSW is focused on helping determine how New South Wales:
generates its energy can distribute safe, sufficient, reliable and cost-competitive energy to consumers
can have a significant role in the growing national energy market
can encourage private investment in New South Wales
can support, regulate and monitor the New South Wales energy industry.
- Department of Climate Change
The Department's role is to lead the development and coordination of Australia's climate change policies. We are responsible for policy advice, implementation and programs in three areas:
Mitigation, through reducing Australia's greenhouse gas emissions, including the design and implementation of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme; Adaption to the unavoidable impacts of climate change; Helping to shape a global solution.
