The launch of enGauge @ Ogilvy House in St Leonards, Sydney coincided with a CitySwitch Cafe Series Event for CitySwitch signatories which was held at Ogilvy House on 17 September, 2009. The CitySwitch Green Office is a national tenant energy management program run in partnership between the cities of Sydney, North Sydney, Parramatta and Willoughby as well as other local councils from around Australia. The CitySwitch program encourages commercial office tenants to do their bit to reduce the climate change impact of office buildings in Australia's CBDs by demonstrating leadership and taking action. The enGauge screen is installed in the foyer of Ogilvy House in full view of clients, staff and guests visiting the building. At the City Switch event it was exciting to see so much interest in the panel which displays real time information on energy use and performance in a friendly way to all that visit Ogilvy House. The system has been such a success it is now being expanded beyond the initial two floors to encompass the whole building. mySmart introduces enGauge website

Australian Hotel Engineers Conference

mySmart Hotel recently exhibited and attended the Australian Institute of Hotel Engineering Update Conference - Sustainability & Innovation on 27th and 28th August, 2009 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in Queensland Australia. The AIHE conference - a bi-annual event brings together the hotel industry’s key decision makers and experts from across Australia and the world for the 2 day event and provides inspiration and essential resources to the hotel engineers of Australia. The mySmart Hotel exhibit was a stand out success as it demonstrated technology that both saved energy using the Inncom product range as well as how to display real time energy savings in a user friendly method using the enGauge panel. Lyndall De Marco a former Executive Director of International Tourism Partnership was so impressed with the system that it became a focal point of her closing speech at the conference on How Sustainability and Profitability work hand in hand. As hotels become more focussed on energy saving the Inncom products allow properties to save in excess of 30% energy savings without inconveniencing guests; the product was accepted as a very practical worthwhile solution to help cut greenhouse gas emissions and take action against climate change and rising utility costs.

Behavioural change can reduce energy consumption up to 30% according to studies by the South Australian Government. enGauge is a simple interactive behavioural change display that provides the energy usage and target information to “engage” the public in reducing their utility consumption. Designed for use in office receptions, foyer, lift lobbies, shopping centres or public spaces, it displays current, historical and target energy, gas, water and waste usage in a fun user friendly and engaging way! Savings tips and client specific messages are displayed to encourage participation. Live electricity, gas and water meter information is transmitted off-site to the mySmart server where it’s converted to an easy to understand format and sent back to the display (or displays). Using the site portal the client can input waste data, customise messages and choose the icons and graph types to display the information. As the display is portable, it can be moved to various areas, such as function rooms or product launches.
